Meena Deora (b. 1960) lives and works in Delhi. She obtained education in art under the guidance of Mr. Rameshwar Broota at Triveni Kala Sangam.
Meena was granted a scholarship by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of India in 1985 and continued experimenting with her work through the 80s. Her painting was conferred the award for the best work by Sahitya Kala Parishad in 1998.
Meena has held several exhibitions of her works at Shridharani Gallery in New Delhi. Her paintings have been exhibited in national exhibitions by Lalit Kala Academy and Sahitya Kala Parishad. Her work was auctioned by Osian’s Connoisseurs of Art. She has participated in art shows in London, Korea, Bahrain, Dubai and Singapore. Meena’s works were exhibited in group shows by Pundole Gallery, Palette Gallery, Threshold Gallery, Cymroza Gallery, Dhoomimal Gallery, Modicare Foundation, Suruchi Gallery, India on Canvas (Jr.) by Khushi, Chawala Gallery, Chitrakala Parishad, Akaar Gallery and at the Bhopal Biennale.
Meena has attended art camps in India, at Almora, Pushkar, Jammu, Bhimtal, Manali, Kochi, Jim Corbett Park, Sahitya Kala Parishad, and overseas at Phuket (Thailand) Geneva (Switzerland), and Seoul (Korea.) Meena’s works are in the collections of the Ambassador of Mexico, Pheroza Godrez, RPG Foundation, Rameshwar Broota, Sahitya Kala Parishad, College of Art, Hotel Ashok, Hotel Training Institute ITDC Gwalior, and other personal collections in India and overseas.
